Day 44: People Strategy and Finance

It was just the second day and it was a hectic day as the classes were from 9am to 7pm. The day included sessions on Business Strategy Implementation, People and Organisation Culture and  Strategic International Finance. So here's how the Day 44 of Executive MBA at NMIMS Hyderabad was.

The lecture started with some recap about the strategy formulation. Post that we discussed about a a case study on GE and how Jack Welsh turned the fotnrues of the company.Later we discussed about the tools of strategy implementation along side the issues that the management has to look into before implementing a strategy. It was a pretty chilled out lecture however it was a tab boring as it was a bit slow. Glad it was over after a while.

Organisational Culture

This was our first lecture on People and Organizational Culture this trimester. A brief was given on HR Planning and how it is implemented in a company. Right from seeing why recruitment is done and why it is required to why training and development is necessary. Overall a new way of looking at people too between the work we do.

International Finance

We had one of our faculty from the 1st Trimester coming in to take this lecture. So there was some familiarity. The subject, it was new and this was just the introductory session. We learnt a bit about Monetary and Fiscal startegy, why and how they are made. Along side learning about the history of how the money exchange rates were introduced. Learnt about Fixed and floating rates and how they work on a basic level.
